Read the receipt.
A receipt on the front: the nine fruit of the Spirit as line items, KINDNESS circled in red pen, TOTAL $0.00, and “Against such things there is no law.” at the bottom.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23, World English Bible
The lie it answers: “Kindness is weakness. Goodness is something you earn.”
The context. In Galatians 5 Paul sets the works of the flesh beside the fruit of the Spirit. It’s fruit, not a purchase and not a résumé: it grows where the Spirit is at work, which is why the receipt reads $0.00. The nine items are the WEB’s list word for word (this translation says “faith” where others say “faithfulness”). Kindness is circled because it’s the one the comment section needs most.
