A counterculture of grace

Christian Influencers Club makes streetwear that teaches scripture and talks back to the culture. Every piece takes one thing our culture teaches that the Bible doesn’t, and answers it with a real passage, marked up the way you mark a Bible you actually read.

Study, not shout

American and Western culture preaches its own gospel: hate the other side, earn your worth, condemn whoever slips, buy more, never rest, and you’re only as loved as your numbers say. Most Christian streetwear answers with a slogan. We hand you the whole passage and show you where to look.

The name carries the joke and the point. The world’s influencers sell themselves. A Christian is influenced first, by Christ, and points past themselves (John 3:30). “Club” means belonging with no velvet rope, because grace already paid the dues.

The guardrails

How we talk back to the culture

Four rules every design follows before it goes on a piece.

  1. We speak to the nation the way the prophets did.

Jeremiah stood at the temple gate and told his own country how it was treating foreigners, orphans and widows. We do the same about how our culture treats immigrants, the poor and its enemies, in Scripture’s own words.

  2. We argue with practices and lies, never with people.

No party names, no candidates, no mocking anyone. The shirt quotes the text and lets it do the confronting.

  3. The church isn’t exempt.

Condemnation from Christians is part of the culture we’re answering. Several pieces speak to believers first.

  4. Grace, not a new law.

The goal is that someone who feels unloved reads the back and finds out they aren’t. Nobody should walk away feeling judged by a T-shirt.

Luke 3:1 WEB

The club dates itself from the start of Jesus’ public ministry, not from the day we filed paperwork. Luke places John the Baptist’s preaching in the fifteenth year of Tiberius, and Jesus began to teach shortly after. That year falls in A.D. 28–29. The first members were fishermen in Galilee.
