Your cart: a bigger house, a newer car, the latest phone, one more hoodie (we sell hoodies, so that one is on us), and bigger barns. Every quantity says more. Items: abundance. Contentment: not included. The total is Jesus’s own sentence, and the button that should say checkout says BEWARE, circled in red, the first word of the verse. The whole verse is the fine print. The chest is the button on its own.
He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
Luke 12:15, World English Bible
The context. Someone in the crowd asked Jesus to make his brother split the family inheritance. Jesus declined to be the judge of that and warned everyone instead, then told the story of a rich man who planned bigger barns for all his goods and did not live to use them (Luke 12:16-21). Jesus isn’t against barns, houses or hard work. He is against the idea that a life is measured by what is in it. We make clothes, so we feel this one too: buy a shirt if you need one. It won’t make your life consist of more.
- The BEWARE button on the chest; the full cart and Luke 12:15 on the back
- No real brands anywhere in the cart
- 260 gsm (7.7 oz/yd²) 100% cotton in a clean, solid black
- Classic everyday fit; unisex sizing, see the size chart in the photos
- Care: wash cold inside out, tumble dry low or hang dry
