SEEK JUSTICE with ISAIAH 1:17 beneath, embroidered on the center chest of a 260 gsm essential cotton tee.
“Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow.”
Isaiah 1:17, World English Bible
The lie it answers. “Somebody should do something” is the most common prayer in the country, and the shortest verse in Isaiah's list is the answer. The verb is yours: seek. It is not “watch” and it is not “repost.”
The context. Isaiah 1 is God confronting a people who kept every religious ritual and ignored the people around them. Bring no more vain offerings (1:13), he says, and then lists what he wants instead: Cease to do evil. Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow (1:16-17).
