WALK HUMBLY with MICAH 6:8 beneath it, embroidered on the chest of a 260 gsm vintage washed boxy tee.
“He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Micah 6:8, World English Bible
The lie it answers. We love the story of the self-made. The prophet's answer is not about building a bigger name: act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. The self-made person has nobody to walk with.
The context. In Micah 6 the question is what God wants from a people with plenty of religion. Shall I come before him with burnt offerings? (6:6). The answer is verse 8: He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
