Details and care
Worn on the outside. Renewed on the inside.
The distressed †CLUB mark (about 5.5 inches) centered on the chest, with 2 Corinthians 4:16 in two small lines beneath it. Simple, quiet, and one verse worth knowing by heart.
“Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16, World English Bible
The lie it answers. Worn out means thrown out: the fast-fashion cycle, the phone that's old in a year, the body that ages, the faith that feels threadbare. This sweater is faded and ripped on purpose, worn on the outside. Paul says that's us. The outside really is wearing down. The inside is being made new, day by day. Nobody here is disposable.
The context. Paul has just described what his ministry cost: pressed on every side, yet not crushed; struck down, yet not destroyed, a treasure carried in clay vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7-9). He doesn't pretend the wear isn't real. He says it isn't the whole story: the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal (4:17-18).
