Details and care
Read the back.
A wooden yoke resting across the foot of a giant red REST, because the rest Jesus offers comes by taking his yoke. Below it, Matthew 11:28-30 is printed entirely in red. Red letter Bibles print the words Jesus spoke in red ink, and this shirt keeps the same rule: every word on the back is his. Three marks share the yoke's dark ink: give you rest is underlined, and easy and light are circled.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30, World English Bible
The context. Jesus has just been criticized from every side and has warned the towns that ignored him. Then he turns to tired people, loaded down with religious rules as much as with life, and invites them to take his yoke instead. A yoke is still work. It is work done alongside someone gentle.
- Small yoke over a red REST on the chest; the yoke, REST and the full passage in red on the back
- 275 gsm (8.1 oz/yd²) 100% cotton, mineral washed for a faded, lived-in color (no two wash out exactly alike)
- Boxy cut with dropped shoulders; size down for a closer fit
