“One of the elders said to me, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals.””
Revelation 5:5, World English Bible
The lie it answers: “Winning means being the loudest.” We read strength as noise, force and getting your way. In Revelation 5 the victory has already happened, and nobody had to roar to get it.
The context. John weeps because no one is found who can open the scroll. An elder says: don't weep, the Lion of the tribe of Judah has overcome. Then John turns to look and sees a Lamb standing, as though slain (Revelation 5:6). The Lion's victory is the Lamb's, which is why the lion on this tee is regal and still.
