Run. Rest. Not weary.
A small †CLUB mark on the left hip with ISAIAH 40:31 beneath it. Simple, quiet, and one verse worth knowing by heart.
“But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31, World English Bible
The lie it answers. Burnout culture says rest is for people who don't want it badly enough: grind, optimize, push through, and if you're tired, try harder. Isaiah puts strength somewhere else. Not in the hustle, but in waiting for Yahweh. The promise isn't that you'll never run. It's that those who wait for him run and are not weary, walk and do not faint.
The context. Isaiah 40 is spoken to people who felt forgotten, sure their way was hidden from God (40:27). The answer: the everlasting God doesn't faint or grow weary, and he gives power to the weak (40:28-29). Even the young get tired and fall (40:30). Verse 31 is the turn: strength renewed by waiting for him. The World English Bible prints God's name, Yahweh, where many Bibles print “the LORD.”
