Details and care

Printed, not embroidered. Read the back, then the sleeves.

Isaiah 61:10 wrapped around you: MY SOUL WILL BE JOYFUL IN MY GOD; down the left sleeve, FOR HE HAS CLOTHED ME WITH THE GARMENTS OF SALVATION. across the back, HE HAS COVERED ME WITH THE ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS down the right sleeve. The circle Members crest on the chest.

“I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My soul will be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
Isaiah 61:10, World English Bible

The lie it answers: “Earn your covering.” We are told to earn our covering: work harder, look better, prove you belong. Isaiah 61:10 is all received. He has clothed me. He has covered me. Nobody sews their own robe of righteousness; like a bride on her wedding day, she is dressed by someone who loves her.

The context. Isaiah 61 opens with the words Jesus read aloud in the synagogue at Nazareth (Luke 4:18-21): good news to the poor, freedom for captives. Verse 10 is the response of the people who receive it: joy, because the clothes are a gift. The World English Bible prints God's name, Yahweh, where many Bibles print “the LORD.”
