Proverbs 31 dresses a woman in strength and dignity before it mentions a single garment. She laughs at the time to come: she isn't afraid of what's ahead.
The context. Proverbs 31:10-31 is an acrostic poem, each line starting with the next letter of the Hebrew alphabet, praising a woman of strength. It was taught to a king by his mother (31:1). It isn't a checklist to earn approval; it's a portrait of a life rooted in the fear of God (31:30).
