The other half of the Seventy Years Set. The circled tally from the hoodie sits at the left hip, the fifth group of five ringed in red, and SEVENTY YEARS · JEREMIAH 29:10-11 runs down the outer left leg in spaced small caps. It is the count the exiles kept before the promise everyone quotes. Here is the passage, with the two verses after it.

For Yahweh says, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon, I will visit you and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:10-13, World English Bible

The context. Jeremiah 29 is a letter to Jewish exiles in Babylon. Just before this, God tells them to build houses, plant gardens and pray for the city that carried them off, because they will be there seventy years. Many who first heard verse 11 would not live to see the trip home. The promise was still true. God had not forgotten them, and the future he meant was bigger than one lifetime: a people brought back who would seek him and find him. It is a promise you can stand on too. It is just slower and deeper than a good-year verse. The World English Bible prints God's name, Yahweh, where many Bibles print “the LORD.”

  • Circled tally at the left hip; SEVENTY YEARS · JEREMIAH 29:10-11 printed down the outer left leg
  • 355 gsm fleece (42% cotton, 53% polyester, 5% other fibers), vintage washed so the color fades unevenly (no two wash out exactly alike)
